Rambod Vala
He received his master’s degree in Art, Practice, and Theory from Northwestern University in 2015. Working across typography, video installation, and hybrid narrative structures, he crafts environments where the real and the imagined merge, and where political struggle, emotional intimacy, critical doubt, and fleeting belief stand in deliberate and uneasy conversation.
His work has been exhibited and featured internationally, including Post-Past at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg and The New York Times (January 2020). His graphic design practice has been recognized by the Society of Typographic Arts’ STA 100, the Prize for Typographic Excellence at the 2nd Chicago International Poster Biennial (2010), and the Jury Award at the 5th China International Poster Biennial (2011). He has been a runner-up for the Claire Rosen & Samuel Edes Foundation Prize and a Luminarts Fellow with the Luminarts Cultural Foundation. In 2022, he completed a residency at the Delfina Foundation in London.
